“Catch Me If You Can: Exploding Data in the Life Sciences”

DAISY, the Symposium on Data Analysis in Life Science, commemorates the 10 year anniversary of the Nycomed Chair for Bioinformatics at the University of Konstanz. During this time the available data has not stopped growing, quite the contrary! Ever new methods are generating mind boggling amounts of data. In addition, instead of focusing on isolated data resources recent years have also seen more and more effort being put into the integrative analysis of diverse data repositories to aid new discoveries in life science research.

DAISY provides a forum to discuss the challenges ahead of us. It brings together renowned researchers from areas such as cheminformatics, machine learning, systems biology, image and data mining who will present their vision of the road ahead: how can we catch up with the enormous data variety that is hovering over us?
